About CNES

Version française

The Centre National d'Etudes Spatiales was founded in 1961 by the French government. This denoted France's wish to undertake an ambitious and independent space policy.

CNES's mission falls within the framework of this logic: to propose to the government a space policy and to implement it with support from industrialists and scientific and technical research teams.
